As an outside applicant, from another market, I was likely easily dismissible to the hiring manager. However, I felt like this was a dream opportunity that I truly wanted the opportunity to pitch. So after many reach outs, follow ups and hearing crickets back…I asked my wife to follow me around Chicago and record this video to introduce myself to the manager.

Immediately after sending the video, I received a phone call back to interview and by the end of the process, it was clear to me that this video circulated to the highest decision makers in the company.

It resulted in a job offer, that I accepted and ended up moving home to Michigan!
